Madge Sinclair was a Jamaican actress who was born in Kingston, Jamaica in 1938, and passed away in Los Angeles, California in 1995. She is perhaps best known for her role as Queen Aoleon in the 1988 comedy film "Coming to America", and as the voice of Sarabi in the 1994 animated Disney film "The Lion King".

Sarabi, the character Madge Sinclair voiced, was Mufasa's wife and Simba's mother in the film. She was the queen of the Pride Lands and was known for being strong-willed and fiercely protective of her family.

Madge Sinclair began her acting career in the 1960s and appeared in numerous films and TV shows throughout her career, including "Cornbread, Earl and Me", "The Amityville Horror", "Trapper John, M.D.", "Masterpiece Theatre", and "The Cosby Show".

Sinclair was also an accomplished theater actress and won a Tony award for her performance in the Broadway play "Torch Song Trilogy" in 1983. She was married to actor Dean Compton with whom she had two sons.
